The short answer
A useful campaign brief defines the customer, offer, conversion, budget and decision rules. Channel selection should follow those decisions.
Choose one primary goal
Trying to solve everything in one campaign makes results harder to interpret. Choose a primary goal such as a sale, booking or qualified enquiry. Define exactly when that goal counts as complete. A form submission and a sales-accepted opportunity are not the same outcome. Measurement should represent what the business actually needs.
Match the customer and the offer
Describe customers beyond age and location. Include their needs, buying barriers and the evidence they look for. The ad and landing page should communicate the same offer. Conflicting promises can create uncertainty even when the traffic is relevant. Stock levels, service area and sales capacity also belong in the plan.
Define budget and experiments
Separate media spend from management fees. Specify daily or period-based limits, who can make changes and what happens when something unexpected occurs. Connect tests to a hypothesis: which message, audience or page difference are you investigating? Changing too many things together makes the cause of a result difficult to understand.
Complete reporting with sales feedback
Clicks and impressions do not tell the whole story. Review enquiry quality with sales. Separate duplicates and irrelevant submissions from suitable opportunities. If reporting ROAS, explain the revenue definition and which costs are included. A campaign report should help the business choose the next experiment.
